Bethany's lifelong dream of becoming a professional surfer was interrupted in 2003 as she was attacked by a 14 foot tiger shark, leaving her without an arm, but not destroying her eagerness and courage to continue to pursue her dreams.
Since the attack, Bethany has had a great deal of noteworthy accomplishments. Her book Soul Surfer made the LA Times Best Seller List. She launched a line of jewelry and accessories at Claire's and a her own perfume line by Revelations, called Stoked for girls and Wired for boys.
Most recently, Bethany has launched several inspirational books on life and faith including Ask Bethany, Rise Above, and Soul Surfer Bible, also a series of novels, including Storm, Crush, Burned, and Clash.
